IT was nothing but blue skies for the Kingston Caravan Park invitation fours tournament last Friday.
Kingston Bowling Club vice president Maureen Saunderson welcomed 22 teams from 14 clubs from around the SE.
A special welcome to; Jenny Waugh Bowls SA Region 1, assistant councillor Shirly Buhlmann, Region 1 life member Janet Lawrie, Kingston Bowling Club life member June Pascoe, who was the sponsor and afforded a special welcome as she was attending her first tournament.
Perfect weather conditions, with a sunny sky, and a slight breeze wind came up later in the day.
The theme for the day was black cats and witches hats for Friday 13.
The day started with a bowl to the witches hats on each green.
Winners A green; Merle Stevens from Millicent and Ann Feast for the Mount Gambier RSL.

Another novelty was the first toucher on the jack on each green and winner A green was Pat Hitchcock from Millicent and B green Doreen Oakley from Mount Gambier.

Winners, Kingston, 93 points; Val Daniel (lead), Gwen McGrice (second), Lyn Possingham (third) and Maureen Sanderson (skip).
Runners up, Kingston, 85.5 points; Gail Hetherington (lead), Shirley Martin (second), Pat Armfield (third) and Janet Lawrie (skip).
Sponsors pick received a bottle of wine each courtesy of the Kingston Caravan Park, Naracoorte RSL; Mavis Parry, Jenny Healy, Linda Gibbs and Daisy Barnes.
Five teams each scored two wins and a draw, skippered by Maragret Marshall from Mount Gambier, Lis Van Den Hurst from Millicent, Shirley Gifford from Mount Gambier RSL, Jenny Waugh Mount Gambier RSL and Merna Whitehead.
