Ham and turkey tradition goes on

19 Dec, 2011 10:21 AM
John Dowling follows the flight of his medium iron shot from the first fairway.

FIFTY-four players, including 33 men and 21 ladies took part in the traditional Christmas Ham and Turkey Day competition at the Kingston golf club.

Players brought along a Christmas gift with golfers selecting a gift in order of their position in the field. A stableford round was played with some excellent scores.

The Christmas ham went to Colleen Manz with 41 points and the long hitting Peter Zacker took home the turkey with 40 points on a count back from Josh Gluyas.

Josh showed his potential by having 3 birdies in his last 9 holes showing imagination and great touch to chip on to the green with the back of his club from under a bush.
