Two groups of men have had lucky escapes after their boats overturned at Robe and Kingston.
Four men had a lucky escape following a boating trip near Robe on Saturday.
About 11.15am on Saturday, four men were about 1km out to sea off Stinky Beach, Nora Creina when their 4.2m aluminium dinghy capsized due to large waves. Thankfully all four men were wearing life jackets at the time.
One of the men managed to swim to shore and raise the alarm while the other three men clung to the boat until a local fisherman was able to rescue them.
All four men, two aged in their 60s and two aged in their 20s, were not injured. The capsized boat was also retrieved.
In another incident, four men in a 6.5m fishing boat reported taking on water when they were 5km off shore, 50km north of Kingston at 10am on Sunday.
A flare was activated and the four men were rescued from the water by a nearby vessel as their boat sunk.
The four men, aged between 21 and 52 from Naracoorte, did not sustain any injuries. The boat was recovered later that day after washing up on the beach.
