Kingston SE CFS station is in the process of receiving a new GRN tower.
Two years ago the state government announced the new tower for the station and work has finally begun on the project.
All of the emergency services in town with the radio network will benefit.
Kingston was previously situated on the edge of two GRN towers, all people involved with emergency services that used a pager would receive broken messages.
CFS Deputy Group Officer Brett McLaren said: “We have had issues for quite some time with paging, it has been quite frustrating.
“The new towers will get a better reception and signal for the Kingston area.
The infrastructure still has to go up, such as the dishes and ariel, at this stage purely the tower has been put up.
“We have been waiting for nearly two years so we can wait a little bit longer.
“All emergency services at Kingston will benefit with messages coming though clearly and concisely.”
