Robyn Clark is absolutely over the moon to see action being taken on the risky trees along Southern Ports Highway.
“We've been waiting for a long to get something happening and it is so good to actually see it coming to fruition,” she said.
“I am so happy it is being done.
“A lot of work is being done by Kingston Council and a lot of people were being being passionate about getting the job done.
“It was great for the community to get behind me, there were 400 signatures on the petition that was taken to the council.
“I believe a lot of lives will be saved by the trees being cut down.
“I began campaigning early November last year and I had asked the council on previous occasions but council had their hands tied because of by-laws.”
The Kingston local felt drivers were dodging death when they used the 4km stretch of the Southern Ports Hwy on the southern side of Kingston.
