Bureau issues warning about wind

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds for people in the Kangaroo Island, Lower South East and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula and Upper South East districts.

Damaging winds, averaging 60-70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are forecast in the warning area during the next several hours.

Locations which may be affected include Mount Gambier, Kingscote, Naracoorte, Victor Harbor, Meningie and Lucindale.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.

* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
