SAPOL have formed a Task Force to investigate an alleged sexual assault and kidnap involving two women at Salt Creek on Tuesday night, and to investigate whether this person may be responsible for any other crimes.
Announcing the creation of Task Force Coorong yesterday, Acting Superintendent Trent Cox said a dedicated team comprising 12 investigators and intelligence officers had been formed.

“It is difficult for police to detail some matters at this time given the arrest of a man, and the legal constraints that brings,” said Superintendent Cox, the officer in charge of the SA Police Special Crimes Investigation Branch.
“However, I would like to assure the public that at this time police are not seeking any other suspect in connection with this matter, but are following every avenue of inquiry.
“I urge the media and the wider community who may be expressing views or sharing information on social media to be cautious so their comments do not prejudice any future prosecution.”
At this time police are conducting evidentiary interviews and continuing forensic examinations of a number of areas.
A wide range of exhibits have also been seized and will require detailed examination.
Anyone with information that they believe may assist investigators should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 – you can remain anonymous.
