Robe artist Jojo Spook has recently completed an art residency with Ghostnets Australia, working with Indigenous elders and a local school.
The trip was five weeks long travelling in a motor home to Cairns and the Atherton table lands.
Jojo said: “I would like to thank the Robe and Lucindale community for helping me to successfully fund this trip along with funding from Country Arts SA.
“From this trip I have come back and intend to pass on various skills through creative art workshops within the Limestone Coast and new art space @ The Yellow Brick Art House. This space is also open to artists to teach and will host several over the summer period.
“The first works that I constructed on return are called ‘Spirit Dogs’ and have received the overall winner of the South East Arts Society recently in Mount Gambier. These sculptures were made from materials, bones, shells, and feathers collected from the trip.”
Classes are tailored to all skill levels, with all material included, and can be continued on after the day.
