Stand Like Stone has done some amazing things since its inception in 2004 and the community is invite to attend its AGM in November.

The Stand Like Stone Foundation community foundation serves the Limestone Coast and holds over $3.8 million in trust to benefit the region.

The income earned from investment is granted annually to local organisations for charitable projects and to individuals as scholarships to assist them with achieving their educational goals.

Since its inception the Foundation has delivered more than $255,500 in grants, $98,600 in scholarships, $385,000 of Back to School vouchers (in partnership with Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR)) and $182,500 of Stay at School vouchers (in partnership with Wyatt Trust).

It has also leveraged a further $77,000 in external grants into the Limestone Coast community – equating to $999,300 in total benefits.

Stand Like Stone will award its one-millionth dollar of funding as part of the annual small grants and educational scholarship programs which are currently open.

The grant round also offers significant funding for projects that support the arts and the development of trade-based programs.

There are also generous scholarships available to students pursuing a career in trades or the arts. Information on grants and scholarships and application forms can be obtained from the Stand Like Stone website

Stand Like Stone’s AGM will be held at Mount Gambier’s Caffe Belgiorno at 4.30pm on November 1, and the community is welcome to attend.

The Foundation is also seeking expressions of interest from community members to fill a current vacancy on the board.

Interested parties should phone the foundation on 8721 0480.
