Excitement is building and registrations are now open for the Kingston Lions surf fishing competition.
With a huge prize pool of up to $25,000, the annual competition is set to be as competitive as ever.
The event kicks off at 2pm on Saturday, January 20 where contestants will line the beach from Kingston's first Long Beach ready to hook a winning fish.
The competition finishes on Sunday, Janury 21 at 9am, after what is sure to be a long night for many.
Registrations can be lodged up until Janury 19 at a number of centres around the SE and then from the main registration centre at the Kingston Information Bay and at the Salt Creek and Kingston roadhouses.
Lions surf fishing competition is an event not to be missed.
Contestants try their luck and fishing skills for the prize pool of $25,000 along the 87km stretch of beach.

When you register, you will be provided with an outline of the rules for the event, the prizes up for grabs and the fees.
Presentation of the prizes will be held on Sunday from 1pm at Lions Park with a barbecue and refreshments available from 10am.
A farmers market will also be taking place on the day at the Lions Park.
All of the proceeds from the annual event go towards the Lions club's many important community projects, as well as to other charity projects.
Contestants should also be aware of the changing tides at all times during the competition and that only beach accessible vehicles and four wheel drives should be on the beaches.
