Women’s international day a huge success in Kingston

The International Women’s Day breakfast held in Kingston on Sunday, March 4 was a huge success.

Sixty people packed into the Crown Inn Hotel to enjoy a delicious breakfast and listen to author, counsellor and speaker Lisa Bondarenko.

Residential leisure/lifestyle coordinator and community day centre/volunteer coordinator Cathy Barker told the Leader it was a great success and a wonderful morning for both the men and women who attended.

“I have to thank the Crown Inn Hotel and Tom, Amy and Jess and all their staff for an outstanding service and breakfast. It was amazing,” Mrs Barker said.

Mrs Barker said Ms Bondarenko was able to enlighten the crowd by speaking about her own life experiences and how she became a successful business woman, inspirational speaker and author.

“We were able to learn a lot about emotional well-being and we look forward to getting her back again to do workshops and other events in the future. She was great.”

Mrs Barker had a lot of people to thank, including the Lacepede Bay Motel which accommodated the visiting speaker so she could attend the event so early in the morning.

“It was a really great morning. I was receiving phone calls yesterday saying how great the morning was and people were still saying thank you. As a chair person of WHAG, that really warms my heart.”
