Robe’s Jake Wehl, Jack Kelly and Kane Cuthbertson competed in the SE Zone Carnival on Saturday for the seniors and Brandon Nicole, Terrance Wilfred and Angus Weir played in the juniors.
Kingston’s Ben Warner was part of the successful KNTFL senior side.
The Mid SE senior team managed to make it into the Grand final, only to lose by a reasonably close margin: KNTFL 5.7 (37) d MSEFL 3.4 (22). The junior boys also had a good one, making it to the final game only to lose as well by about the same margin: MSEFL 3.4 (22) lost WBFL 6.2 (38)
The lads had a great day, especially Wehl who came away with best player for the Mid SE and best u21 player. The Robe Football Club did a great job preparing the oval and running the day, with Leigh Fisher at the helm painting the oval just days before the event.
Full report for the carnival in this week's Coastal Leader.
