All four games in this week’s round 14 are likely to be highly competitive. All have a firm favourite, but all four are also a chance for an upset.
Kybybolite v Mundulla. Kyby has had a down season but had its best win of the year against Mundulla in round 3 when it came back from 33 points down at three quarter time to win.
Unfortunately the Tigers have lost at least half a dozen of their key players from that day since then, so an upset win would be a big surprise. Mundulla is going beautifully with a dominant midfield and forward James Hinge finding great form with a big bag of goals last week.
Border Districts v Penola. Borders are one of the better sides outside the top five and can cause an upset here at home.
Penola is entrenched in the top three and continues to do nothing wrong, but will need to be on here or Borders could pounce.
Lucindale v Naracoorte. Lucindale will be hot favourites here after a week off, well set inside the top five and a good record in games it should win this year. But Naracoorte loves a rivalry game and will be up for this so it will be a competitive contest.
Bordertown v Padthaway. There’s only one win between these sides on the ladder, with Padthaway slumping after a strong start. While the Lions will be favourites, they’re not performing all that well at the moment Bordertown is a big chance to win if the Roosters bring their best.
Keith, K/L United and Kingston all have byes.
