KNTFL preview/team placings | ROUND 16

A fantastic round of local footy awaits this weekend, with all four match-ups potentially being 50-50 calls.

Match of the round is a toss up between two great games – Kaniva/Leeor United (1st) versus Lucindale (4th), and Keith (3rd) versus Mundulla (5th).

The in-form Lucindale will like its chances of upsetting KLU at Lucindale, although the Roos will be undermanned with utility Sam Graetz going out with injury, fellow swingman Riley Milne also still sidelined and usual full back Duncan Ogilvie not named for this weekend.

The result of this game could have big implications. If KLU lose they could become susceptible to losing top spot, while if Lucindale loses, it will damage their hopes of making top three.

Neither Keith or Mundulla will miss the finals, but both are still a chance to finish top three and claim the finals double chance, so that is also a vital game.

Keith will be warm favourites and will be a good chance to stitch up a top three spot if they win, but Mundulla is in top form and could easily pull off the win.

The game between Naracoorte and Padthaway features traditional rivals who will both be desperate to finish higher than the other on the ladder. Naracoorte sprung a surprise early in the season by beating the more fancied Lions and playing at home this time, the Demons should be favourites.

Focus: Keith's Andrew Wilson will be a midfield key this weekend.

Border Districts and Kingston don’t have anything bar pride for play for, but this will be a very competitive game between two capable sides. Borders have looked the more potent side in the back half of the year and should get the points after the Saints make the long trip from the seaside to Goroke.

Kybybolite, Penola and Bordertown all have a bye this week.
