Sharks v Stingrays

Stingrays were the winners this year 15-7.

Fantastic game everyone!

It was so great to see so many parents, grandparents and relatives out to watch this game and the kids got to show off a bit having an audience, it really did bring out the best in the kids this week.

Stingrays started strong with Skye Martin and Mandy in goals scoring 3 goals and their defence by Charley and Caitlyn keeping the opposition scoreless in the first quarter.

Skye W in the centre gave plenty of pace through the mid court and some sneaky steals from Delta against the tall of Mandy in the ring couldn’t help the ball drop for goals.

Second quarter had Charley go into GA and Skye into GS for red team, Mandy went to C while Skye W teamed up with Caitlyn in defence, Sharni went to C and Halley came on to GS and scored 2 goals for the blue team.

Kate gave Charley a hard time in and around the ring but Skye M played her best quarter all year against Delta  shooting 7 points to have a huge lead into half time.

Changes at half time saw the game switch but sharks couldn’t take advantage getting their accuracy yet still out scored red 1-0.

Final quarter stingrays went back to their starting positions while sharks had Kate in goals with Halley and put Delta in C.

Lots of turnovers in this quarter had passes from one end to the other and both teams scoring 4 points each.

Congratulations to Stingrays on winning the grandfinal, fantastic game sharks, thanks to junior sponsors Aggies for the awards this season and also for Best and Fairest trophy, to all our other trophy sponsors, everyone who bought raffle tickets and coming out to support these kids and our club.
