Robe Kindergarten children start transition to primary school

As part of the transition program for children coming into preschool, Robe Kindergarten recently welcomed new parents with a Children’s Week morning tea.

The children helped to prepare healthy food for the families including putting together fruit platters, dip and vegetable platters and baking choc chip cookies.

The kindergarten were lucky enough to receive a grant from the SA Children’s Week Committee to support this initiative.

8 new families/parents came along with their children for the morning tea and it had a great turn out.

Robe Kindergarten are still taking enrolments for 2019 for eligible children who turn 4 before May 1 2019.

Transition to Robe Primary School has also just begun, with the kindy children attending school during morning lessons on Wednesdays for the next four weeks.

The children have enjoyed their visits to the school, with the school and kindergarten staff receiving a positive response from the children from their new experiences.

“This is a great time of year as we work together with the R/1 class and teacher Tom Wachtel to support the children in making a happy and successful transition to their new learning environment,” Robe Kindergarten Director Sally Smith said.

Towards the end of term 3 Robe Kindy received their assessment and ratings report, rating exceeding in all areas, reaching the highest possible rating.

“We were extremely proud and pleased to receive this rating and we thank the children, families and all the members of the Robe community who support us in our valuable work in the early years of children’s lives,” Ms Smith finished.
