Cattle producers who are seeking doing ability, rapid growth and quiet temperament should head to Gumbowie to inspect the Hazeldean Angus SA sale team for 2019.
Hazeldean’s high performance herd is built on 90-plus years of breeding with reproduction, docile temperament and natural doing ability as cornerstones of the program.
Feedlotters consistently recognise Hazeldean Angus bloodlines and increasingly seek them out for their marbling ability and feedlot performance.
Guy Cunningham stresses that all sale bulls are unconditionally guaranteed by the vendor for 12 months under the Hazeldean Angus guarantee.
“We realize that there is a significant investment in time and money when purchasing bulls,” he said.
“So we ensure only the soundest bulls are put up for sale and have them all independently structurally assessed.
“On top of this we cover our bulls unconditionally for 12 months.”
Hazeldean Angus is renowned for its easy-handling cattle, along with excellent temperament and great structure.
“Temperament is highly heritable; it affects carcase quality, growth rates and handling,” Guy said.
“Any animal that shows bad temperament never makes it to the sale team.”
The 2019 sale will offer the first sons of Hazeldean Katzen K416, an outstanding son of Rennylea Edmund out of a Berkley cow. He is in the top 1 per cent of the breed for all indexes, calving ease, with low birth combined with high growth and excellent carcase.
Progeny of the “structure king” Hazeldean Jaipur J140 are also in the team, together with sons of Complement, Innovation, Payweight, Traction, Chieftain, Paygrade, Hoover Dam and their other top Hazeldean young sires.
You are invited to inspect the sale bulls during the South East Beef Field Days on Tuesday, February 5 at Hazeldean Angus SA, Gumbowie, Willalooka and on sale day, Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
