Gerry O to perform at Ministry of Laughs night in Robe

Gerry O Robe comedy night

It has been announced that Australian comedian Gerry O will be performing during The Ministry of Laughs stand up show in Robe.

The Ministry of Laughs will be a live stand up comedy performance in the Robe Institute on March 30.

There will be a good mix of local and interstate comedians performing live throughout the night, including Gerry O.

Gerry O is an Australian comedian who mainly performs in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, using his notable vocal impersonations for guest appearances on radio in most states in Australia.

Gerry O has made a name for himself in Adelaide, winning the most unusual talent in the city due to his comic impersonations of famous celebrities including Tina Turner, John Farnham and Anastacia and Kermit the Frog.

The Aussie comedian has performed at a number of corporate events at venues such as Melbourne’s Telstra Dome for the AFL Grand Final season and two sell-out Hotel Adelaide seasons.

He has appeared on the television shows Channel 9's The Footy Show and Hey, Hey It's Saturday.

Gerry O has also been the front man of Adelaide’s most popular bands and in early 2005 Gerry was the only South Australian to be chosen as one of the Australian top 20 for the INXS Rockstar national talent competition where he received several votes.

Gerry’s also won “best original song” in the Songwriters, Composers and Lyrics Association competition, and his main ambition is to perform his own comedy show and original music nationally and internationally.

Comedian and actor Jamie Harding will be MC for the night, who has had a number of acting roles on Australian television and has also performed his stand up routine on radio, tv and theatre.

Tickets for the show in Robe are on sale at The Robe Visitor Information Centre. Audience members can bring their own food but no alcohol, there will be a large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available.

Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards local comedian Elise Lehmann in helping her reach her Paralympic goal.
