Robe Primary School involved in community project

The Robe Primary School 6/7 class continued to work on an important community project this week.

The students at RPS took out the posts and guards that protected the trees they planted early last year in front of the bowls club along the dunes, with their teacher Nat Boulden and William Hay from the Robe Friends of the Dunes supervising.

6/7s first planted the trees on 'Schools Tree Day' on July 27 last year as part of their science class, as they initially connected with the Robe District Council to see where they could plant trees and benefit the town in doing so.

Mr Hay thanked the school students and Ms Boulden as well as the other parties who have contributed, including the State Govt Dept of Environment and Water, the Robe District Council and the Robe Friends of the Dunes members who have continued to help with the finance and labour of the successful community project.
