Mail Medal presented to Kingston Saints

The family of Allan Pinches has presented his 1952 Mail Medal for "fairest and most brilliant player" in the Southern Ports Football Association to the Kingston Football Club.

It was the first Mail Medal presented by the now defunct association and was won by Pinches when playing for Rovers, with a total of 16 votes. He coached Rovers for three years and was a member of their 1954 premiership team.

The framed medal was presented to the club by his wife Marie and children Sue, Anne and Geoff.

Secretary Anita Hamlyn said the club greatly appreciated the gesture.

"The Kingston Football Club is honoured to be given such a significant piece of the Kingston Football Club's history and we thank the Pinches family for entrusting the club with it."
