Change is the theme of next year's SA History Festival, and with that in mind organisers are seeking registrations of events which will coincide with the month-long celebrations.

History Trust of South Australia chief executive Greg Mackie said the festival, which will take place between May 1 to 31, has gained momentum in recent years.

'The History Festival program provides an opportunity for all South Australian's to share their passion for history, for collecting and for our unique heritage," he said.

"The History Festival has become a fixture on the calendar in May, and I can't wait to see what new events and experiences our presenters organise for 2020."

This year there were 695 events held across the state with more than 158,000 people attending performances, exhibitions, tours and talks at venues such as galleries, museums and even cemeteries.

Registrations of events close on February 6, 2020. For more information or to register visit www.historyfestival.sa.gov.au, phone 8203 9888 or email historyfestival@history.sa.gov.au.
