Bowlers complete winter season

The Robe Bowling Club has wound up its winter season ready for a busy summer.

Last Saturday the Scroungers competition was won by Dean Burgoyne with 40 points, 2nd was Jim Gray on 33 and Pat Lynch on 28.

The overall competition was won by Dean Burgoyne with 252, with Ann Moore on 138 and Ken Smith on 132.

Thursday was sponsored by The Robe Caledonian Inn with 25 players, playing triples, with 2x2 game winners.

Winners on 54 points were Rob Lawrie, Judy Bermingham and David Robinson, with Baxter Kennett, Pam Robinson and Tracey Gray runners-up on 51.

Opening Day will be September 19, with names in by 12.30pm for 1pm start.

All members must wear their uniform with new members welcome.

Robe ladies invitation tournament will be Tuesday, September 28, and Robe Open BPL will be Wednesday, September 29. Caddy Shak will be in attendance both days for bowls gear.

Ladies pennant starts Friday, October 8, and Open Pennants Saturday, October 9 - both days are home matches.

Thursday October 14, we will be welcoming the Wheel to Walk, who are raising money for spinal research, for twilight bowls and barbecue.

Unfortunately we are farewelling a few of our members this year who are relocating to be with family.
