Former Robe Football Club player turned Sydney Swan Jordan Dawson has been traded to the Adelaide Football Club after requesting a trade back to his home state last month.

The Crows' final trade offer to the Swans for Dawson was a future first round pick tied to Melbourne's ladder position next year, which was agreed on by both clubs on Tuesday, the day before the conclusion of the trade period.

Crows put the offer on the table on Monday, with Sydney making its final decision on the deal after declining other offers from the Crows during the opening week of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The 24-year-old has developed into a versatile wingman, having a career best season this year after finishing third in the Swans best and fairest.
