Kingston Cup golfers pay tribute to Helen Gluyas

Sixteen ladies turned up at Kingston golf last Wednesday. They drove in the pouring rain and left an hour later in the rain as well.

Nothing like a bit of moisture to dampen the enthusiasm as morning coffee was high on their to-do list.

Fortunately, the weather was kind to us as we said farewell to Helen Gluyas the next day at a beautiful graveside ceremony. It was followed by her wake at the Kingston Golf Club.

With golf exploits off the news, its congratulations to member Tom Gardner on the birth of his son, George.

Cheerio to the unwell Diane Collins and all the best to Rachael Ingerson, who is still stuck in Victoria.

Joan Tiver reported on her recent game at the Naracoorte tournament; she said it was like putting on glass over there.

She did however, manage a NTP prize when they drew her name out of a hat because no one had landed on the green.

Chris Downing was the best of our rest with a tidy nett 74 which meant she came fourth overall. Well done, Chris.
